From the car park to
check-in with SITA Airport IT.
Since the beginning of 2012, we have been responsible for the technical operations of car parks at Düsseldorf Airport.
We ensure that entrance and exit systems, automated pay stations, parking space counting and video surveillance function smoothly for this parking spaces. We also design and operate the web-based parking reservation system and the external parking and traffic management system.
We provide the data centre infrastructure, including hosting, maintenance and care, for all necessary parking related applications. New functionalities, such as analysis and simulation tools, make it possible for the airport to improve how it evaluates data and controls parking operations.
All systems are fully networked and have the primary goal to constantly optimise the length of stay and the itinerary of customers and guests at the airport in terms of efficiency and convenience.
However, this is not something we are satisfied with – we are pushing technical innovations ahead, e.g. for greater energy efficiency or accessibility, and forward-looking technologies, such as contactless access for parking customers, together with our partner Scheidt & Bachmann.
We would also be happy to put our parking know-how to work for you!
Two robots are responsible for parking at the new “First Class Parking” at Düsseldorf Airport. Affordable. Fast. Close to the terminal. Down to the millimetre. The new parking segment will be offered by SITA Airport IT GmbH under the well-known “Parkvogel” brand in a separate area in car park P3. This is backed up by state-of-the-art technology: the revised Generation 2.0 of modern robot parking. The system now runs even more stable, faster and more comfortable. The passenger is already in the terminal at check-in just a few minutes after handing over the vehicle.
Parking is child's play thanks to innovative technology. Passengers make their reservations via an online booking system (www.parkvogel.de/en/) in advance of their trip. In the lower area of the P3 multi-storey car park near the terminal there are six futuristic-looking handover boxes in which parking space customers can park their cars easily and conveniently. The parking space customer enters his or her flight data via a touchscreen, and the car is transported autonomously from the handover box to the parking area. Step out, get your luggage out of the boot, check in and take off. Parking is automated using the latest robot technology in the rear part of the car park. At the end of the trip, the vehicle is then ready to be picked up again on-time from the handover box. Significant time savings and a more comfortable parking experience are the hallmarks of “First Class Parking”.
