Pan Dacom Direkt has supported SITA Airport IT since 2013 as a technology partner in implementing the requirements. In 2016, for example, the first data centre coupling based on DWDM technology was realised at Düsseldorf Airport DUS with the help of the SPEED-OTS-5000 system.
By using DWDM technology, the capacity of the existing fibre optic connection could be multiplied. The use of different colours (spectral light components/wavelengths) enables the simultaneous transmission of different applications. Parallel transmission can be easily extended to transmit up to 96 different applications via one fibre pair.
Thus, data rates of up to 25.6 Tbit/s per fibre pair can be realised with the SPEED-OTS-5000 system, which e.g. saves existing dedicated lines and ensures a fast ROI.

The Airport Operational Database (AODB) is the "heart" of DUS Airport. It integrates the airport control system, resource allocation and billing systems. Thanks to the extremely competent project team of SITA Airport IT and an innovative technological approach, the operation of this central database hub is secured for the next few years.
Due to the sharp increase in bandwidth requirements, the existing infrastructure at Düsseldorf Airport DUS was fundamentally modernised and expanded for SITA Airport IT 2022. The innovative systems developed by Pan Dacom Direkt take over a high-performance, secure connection for the data centre link. In the process, 3x 16Gbit/s FiberChannel, 4x 25Gbit/s and 1x 1Gbit/s Ethernet for parallel and fail-safe transmission over two lines were put into operation with the expertise of the SITA Airport IT project team.
